About Me

Hey friends, my name is Hayden (they/them pronouns, please). I have a whole list of chronic and disabling conditions and I created this blog to document stories related to my life with disabilities and all the joys and challenges that can bring. As you may have guessed from the blog name, one of my conditions is POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and one of my symptoms is that I frequently have syncopal episodes (fainting/ passing out). Hence, I am Dropsie POTSie. I use mobility aids to help with my dizziness and syncope, including a couple different types of wheelchairs and a rollator/walker. I also have a service dog in training named Melek, who will help me with mobility when he’s old enough. He’s a goofy Great Dane who came home when he was 9 months old. His amazing breeder did a lot of work with him before he came home, so he had a really good foundation for training. I took over his training when he arrived and I am currently working on teaching him different tasks to help with my disabilities, as well as how to behave in public situations. Life with chronic health issues isn’t always easy, but you do end up with a lot of crazy stories to tell. I hope you enjoy journeying with me as I share some of those stories.
